Abomaste to you all dear readers!
First of all, I want to address some overly aggressive criticism/feedback from my review last week. While I think I made it obvious, it seems that because I mentioned that I thought it was the weakest episode of the series, I must have not enjoyed it. I made it clear in the review that I still enjoyed it, it was just that I have enjoyed the other episodes more. Not enjoying something as much as normal doesn’t mean it’s bad. It is also completely fine to disagree with my opinion, after all, it is just that, my opinion. I always welcome feedback and healthy debate; however, it does not need to get personal or abusive. Anyway, let’s get to the review!
With all the frantic chaos of the wedding out of the way, it’s time for Jen to let go of her stresses and really search deep down inside of herself and figure out, who is Jennifer? Who is She-Hulk?
We start the episode with a significant passage of time one shot, before leading us into the first act of the episode. This first act navigates the, mostly, highs of the dating scene Jen (Tatiana Maslany) and Josh (Trevor Salter) have good visual chemistry, so this sequence really felt natural and had a very positive vibe surrounding it. That is until Jen loses communication with Josh after the pair finally take the dating to the next level. This confusion and frustration send Jen down the path leading to Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) and his rather interesting retreat…
Tim Roth is a pure delight in this episode! His line delivery and timing are incredible, and the direction they are taking Emil/Abomination is something I can get behind! As this is a retreat, there are obviously going to be some guests and it’s safe to say we are introduced to a bunch of… ‘unique’ characters – Man-Bull (Nathan Hurd), El Aguila (Joseph Castillo-Midyett), Saracen (Terrence Clowe) and Porcupine (Jordan Aaron Ford). This ensemble all have their comedic moments and really add to the fun nature of the episode. However, housed within this exceptionally funny episode of She-Hulk, was one of the show’s most poignant and emotive moments to date, and its sobering nature really made it the stand-out moment of the series so far, for me at least.
As for the overall story arc, this episode gets us slightly back on track with that aspect and you just feel like next week we will have a big episode in that regard. With that said, this isn’t really a show that is centred around a big superhero plot, as despite the Hulk nature of the show, this is very much a low-key humanised comedy series. I still feel that some of the pushback against She-Hulk is because it’s not following your typical MCU template. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has a lot to say, and it will take its time saying it – on its own terms and I for one find this approach really refreshing.
What did you think of the latest episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law? Let us know in the comments or on social media.

Abomaste!!! Well played Sir!! I’m really enjoying where they’ve taken Emil also and am SO here for his retreat center!!
