The Bad Batch (Season 1) – Episode 8: Reunion Review

By Ben Wright (@iamzavagno |

The internet will rejoice! Crosshair kicks off the episode and with a title like ‘Reunion’, you can imagine what’s going to happen…

We are still on Bracca and the episode takes place mainly at night, which really helped for a great setting! The pacing of the episode was really well worked and the lighting and sound design really enhanced the episode’s fun and entertaining story. If you we’re craving certain aspects of The Bad Batch that you’ve been missing, then this episode will satisfy your cravings!

Omega continues to grow her knowledge of how the galaxy works and learns more about the Clone Wars itself. She is taking all of these new experiences and knowledge in her stride and this was another episode where she really comes into her own.

As for the ending, oh boy oh boy. There is little I can say without spoiling things, but let’s just say my jaw hit the floor…

The Bad Batch – Reunion was a brilliant episode! With an exciting setting, intense action and plenty of story progression, this week’s episode of The Bad Batch was one of the strongest to date! The series really seems to have kicked it up a gear and we should be very excited as to what happens next!

The Bad Batch Spoiler Chat:

Cad Bane – HOLY S***! I did not see this coming! When the troopers were down, I thought it would be Fennec, but not in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that The Bad Batch would have introduced Cad Bane into the mix! Incredible! His standoff with Hunter at the end of the episode was so intense and as much as I like Hunter, I think the outcome was right…

Hunter – Speaking of Hunter, I honestly thought when Bane shot him that was it. Game over. They sold it really well and while I was still in shock, they brought him back with an excellent POV sequence that was really well executed when coupled with the sound design.

Crosshair – I mean, I thought I would be talking about Crosshair a lot more since he’s been away for so long, but he was gazumped by Cad Bane! Despite TBB getting away, I still think Crosshair is in a fairly strong position, villain-wise. He took one heck of a beating though and even if they do manage to get the chip out of him somehow, he may be too far gone and unforgiving at this point.

Kamino – The Empire are really starting to takeover now and with Rampart not working well with the Prime Minister, you feel it is only a matter of time before things really escalate! We also get sub-confirmation that it was the Kaminoans who hired Fennec and Bane.
