Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire roars onto the screen with an explosive continuation of the monster saga, as Godzilla and Kong find themselves facing off once again in a battle for supremacy. Yet, when a new threat emerges, their clash takes on world-altering stakes, leading to an epic showdown that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room – or should I say, the giant lizard and the colossal ape. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire isn’t aiming for cinematic greatness. Its CGI might wobble occasionally, and its plot could be likened to a Saturday morning cartoon. But here’s the thing – that’s part of its charm! Embracing its absurdity, I found myself thoroughly entertained by this wild thrill ride. It’s a film that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and neither should you.

One common critique of the Monsterverse movies is the treatment of human characters. Often, they either distract from the main action or feel underdeveloped. However, in this latest instalment, there’s a noticeable improvement. Returning actors like Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle bring depth to their roles, while newcomer Dan Stevens steals the spotlight with his impeccable comedic timing as Trapper.

But let’s not forget why we’re all here – the monster battles. And boy, does Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire deliver. From jaw-dropping clashes between the titular titans to some of the most ludicrous and awe-inspiring moments ever seen on screen, the film knows how to satisfy its audience’s hunger for epic showdowns. These battles are strategically placed throughout the narrative, ensuring a well-paced and exhilarating experience from start to finish.
